Jumping Journal: March 07, 2006
Day 53. Number 9 in a row, finally a decent back to back stretch. It only took until the end of the winter for it to happen.
Maybe I should say, "I'm scared to jump this." That is a comment I heard tonight, plus a few others from someone who has spent the entire winter jumping the 50 in Lebanon and has even jumped the 90 in Lake Placid. Tonight she was taking some jumps on the 25 in Lebanon.
After taking down the rest of the deflection fencing on the landing hill of the 50 and moving a few other things around I headed on over and started jumping the 25. It does seem strange to jump the 25 after having spent most of the winter on the 50.
I decided right from the beginning to work on both the V and the tele. The V went well all night long. The tele only happened once. The only trouble I had all evening was trying to stop at the end of the outrun which had practically turned to solid ice. I ended up on my butt more times than not because I just could not stop and didn't want to go up and over the top.
For the most part I had my head down as usual on most of the 14 jumps I took. Most of the time I didn't have the ankles cocked very much either. I stil wish I could get both of those things down and get myself to do them consistently.
