Jumping Journal: January 25, 2006

Day 27.  Not quite what I had planned tonight, but definitely a better night than what I was expecting.

It was another Wednesday evening.  High school jump meet time.  One jump meet was suppose to be at Hanover and the other meet was suppose to be held at Newport.  Both jumps are closed right now due to lack of snow.  The only two jumps currently being jumped in New England are Lebanon and Andover.  I thought I heard that Hanover was going to have their meet at Lebanon.  Instead Sunapee was going to have their meet at Lebanon.  Not sure what Hanover ended up doing.  They may have went to Andover.  Guess I'll have to ask around in the next day or two and find out.

I figured I might be luck to get the seven jump average tonight.  I didn't figure I would end up forejumping this week.  I decided that unless the opportunity presented itself I wouldn't say anything and I would just let it slip by.

By the time the meet started I had ten jumps in for the evening on the 25.  Definitely my biggest evening of jumping so far this year.  All but one jump was very solid.  Sure wish I could jump like that all the time on the 50.  It would be WAY too sweet if I could pull it off.  I wasn't going all that far but I was mostly trying to get the body position correct versus going for power.  I still wish I could keep my head up instead of burying my chin toward my feet.

The way things went tonight does have me questioning a little about what I did last night.  I was wearing the jump suit tonight and things seemed a lot better than what I would have expected.  Tomorrow night should tell a lot more since I'll be spending most of the evening, if not all the evening, on the 50.  I guess I might have to wear the jump suit tomorrow night and find out.

I believe I should only have four more jumps before I'll be at 200 jumps for the winter.  Everything right now does seem to running ahead of normal.  I'm not sure what has happened but it really does seem like I have more days than what I would normally have by now, as well as more jumps.
