Jumping Journal: August 06, 2006

Lunatic Fringe Day.  At least it seemed that way.  Three adults out jumping with no kids to be found anywhere.  A nice, sunny day with temps in the upper 70s.  You couldn't ask for much nicer weather for...summer jumping.

I ended up the day with five jumps.  Each jump seemed to get progressively worse.  The first jump though had to be the jump of the summer so far.  I ended it with a 17-18 meter jump.  It was definitely the longest jump on plastic I have had since the end of last summer.  I still haven't figured out what I did right on the jump to make it such a better jump.

As I was about to start down the inrun I paused and restarted.  Right at that moment I pretty much gave up on the jump and figured that it was going to go nowhere, and get there fast.  I jumped at the takeoff and it still seemed the same way until I landed much further down the hill than normal.

Pretty much each of the other four jumps ended up over 15 meters as well but they just didn't quite have the same flow as the first one.  Each one lacked one thing or another and caused the jump to fall shorter than the first one.
