Jumping Journal: January 26, 2006

Day 28.  One of the best evening of jumping on the 50 ever.  The evening started a little later than normal.  Everyone was running late.  After finding out that my nice calm relaxed weekend has been turned on its head I put on the jump suit...yes, jump suit, and headed on up the tressel to start what would be the start of a very busy weekend of jumping.  I had plan on some jumping this weekend but now, supposedly, I will doing quite a bit of jumping this weekend.  Maybe being jumped ragged.  This shall just be a little strange this weekend not having Cannonball around or most of the other adult jumpers.  Half of the adult jumpers are in, or will shortly be on their way to the, Minni/St. Paul area for US Masters Championships.

Tonight I decided to continue the concept I was working with Tuesday evening.  Tonight I changed things around slightly because of new information I read on the internet just this morning.  I knew it would make the process much quicker and would be far easier to do.

From the very beginning I was having some real nice jumps.  The first three were jumps just like last night.  Much better body position and much better control.  I didn't do a very good job at cocking the ankles on the first jump but I could notice the body position was far better than anything Tuesday evening.  The second and third jumps just got better.

The fourth jump was the hiccup for the evening.  I was definitely a little sloppy.  It was the first time I can ever really remember be "thrown" in the air.  Granted I saw one or two other jumps getting tossed by the winds tonight.

Jumps five through seven were all solid as well, and on the last jump or two I actually did have my head up.  I just hope I can continue to keep the head up.  It's been the one thing that I have had the hardest time with ever since I started jumping.

I was planning on taking this new training concept that I have been experimenting with the last couple of days and using it for the ultimate good before jumping tonight, but that didn't happen.  Hopefully, I will get around to that in the next couple of days.  It should provide for some quite interesting results.  I think the results I have already seen are saying quite a bit about the technique.  No, I didn't crash tonight.  Tonight was one of the most comfortable nights of jumping I can ever remember.  Something is happening.
