Jumping Journal: May 7, 2006

Another fine day for jumping.  Does seem strange to be having this nice of weather this time of year.  Temps in the mid to upper 60's under crystal clear sunny skies.  What else could you ask for.

Maybe a little more sleep before jumping might help.  Over the past week I have managed to keep myself so busy that I have been getting only around 5 hours sleep a night.  I got to the jump feeling pretty good but by the time I was dressed and ready to go I was lucky to be awake.  I definitely lost it shortly after getting to the hill.

I walked, slowly, up the stairs for the first jump.  I knew I woud be lucky if I didn't end u jumping very late.  The first jump wasn't actually all the bad, it was late though.  The second jump was also late.  The same for the third jump.

Jump four through six was getting better but I was still wasn't jumping through.  On jump number seven I finally decided to jump through the heal and boy did that make a nice difference.  Even though I was still late the ski tips did manage to come up unlike any of the other jumps of the day.  I'm back using the old ski and boots.  The boots are junk boots that provide no support.  I can cock the ankles all I want and the ski tips won't come up.  The only real way to get the tips to come up is to jump through the heel at the takeoff.

Before taking jump seven I had planned on quitting at seven jumps.  The seventh jump was such a nice jump I decided to go ahead and take another one.  What a mistake.  I ended up crashing jump eight.  Since I knew I shouldn't have taken the eighth jump I decided not to take a ninth jump.

Given the warm weather that is the most jumps I think I have ever taken in one day during the warm summer months.  During colder weather I had over 10 jumps in one day on plastic but never with it 65-70 degrees.

As far as it is known Lebanon is the only place in the world that jumps 12 months a year.  Today marks the 105th consectutive month of jumping on the K25 in Lebanon, heck it even marks my 65 consectutive month of jumping.
