Day 48. A little different jumping the 25 without it being the weekend this time of year.
I arrived at the hill early and helped to get new bows laid out on the inrun prior to the start of the individual competition. Just like yesterday I was up top the jump as the starter. The competition today went quicker than the jumping yesterday.
After the competition and awards ceremonies I ran a couple of big errands and made my way back to the hill around 5:30PM. I knew that the new kids were going to be jumping the 10 and 25 and I decided to go ahead and grab several with them.
The first jump was kinda lax, didn't have the ankles cocked and didn't really jump very much at the takeoff. The second jump was better and then Sam Burke, who was coaching on the 25, decided to try to get me to do a tele for the first time since last spring. I didn't manage the tele on the third jump but each of the remaining jumps I was doing some resemblance of a tele.
After the first jump I did tap on cocking the ankles and on the next jump I did manage to cock the ankles, probably the best of the evening. I did tapping on several other things including the tele and driving through the heel. I still wish I could manage to figure out a way to be able to tap in a more easy going fashion. It's not easy to do it while jumping and walking back up the steps. Everything, by choice admittedly, is so hurried that it makes it difficult to really approach the tapping the way I would like to do it.
All in all I ended up the evening with eight jumps, including three or four teles.
